Street Photography: #20 New York

Finally, after 5 long years, I’m back in New York. I’m not here for holidays, but even if I cannot say yet the reason that brings me here, I’m more than happy to stroll around this beautiful city. I was missing it. From someone living in Italy and in the European community, New York feels a very European city, but bigger. I did walked 20 miles per day circa, loving to be immersed in this multicultural, multicoloured and varied environment, and it was a blast.

My impression of the city is that it’s never sleeping, for real. I walked in Manhattan and Brooklyn till late, very late, and I kept seeing people walking around me, people inside restaurants, people drinking in pubs, and of course, eternal cues in front of Kats Delicatessen at whatever hour of the day (been there twice in few days. You should always expect at least 15 minutes of waiting time outside and 15 minutes of waiting time inside, but its worth it).

In my life, I worked abroad in England and In Canada, and today I feel it’s kind of a pity not having tried to work also in New York. I’m sure it could have been very exciting and rewarding. From what I’m hearing around, living in this city is not super cheap, as the cost of life, and especially renting a house, keeps growing, but New York is so dense of activities and opportunity that I’m sure it would be worth a try. I have some Italian friends here, some that started with me in Ubisoft Milan years ago, and they are very happy about their lifestyle and staying in the city. I wish them the best. Enjoy the city also for me :)
