As I said some time ago, photography is not only a passion for me, it is also a cure for the daily efforts of a production like that of Sparks of Hope, which requires great commitment and dedication. Having an outlet valve is very important to be able to keep yourself in balance psychologically. It is very important to do so, it helps not only yourself but also the quality of your work and the results of your passions.
So, at regular intervals, it is good to take a break from the work table and move on to another, lightheartedly and without pressure, to give free rein to your creativity.
Now that I've left Milan, it's like starting from scratch. I have to discover the new territory that surrounds me, the people, their activities, their daily activities. Last week I went to Cremona, a great little town. Famous for being the city of violins, it was known since ancient times for its luthier workshops. These originate from Andrea Amati who from 1556 made Cremona the world capital of the violin, and who then became even more famous with the instruments built by Antonio Stradivari. One day I’ll try to take some pictures of a real violin workshop but in the meantime, I want to take my time to walk around the city to know it better. Street photography it’s possible everywhere, you don’t have to be in a big city to find something interesting.
Walking, observing and discovering a city is always very exciting for me. Every place I have visited is full of incredible people and small or bigger events that are worth sealing with a picture.
Of course, you should never limit yourself to your surroundings, but keep looking and keep moving, because everywhere there is something to look for. Curiosity is one of the things that keeps me clinging to life the most, as well as the pleasure of telling stories and creating experiences with my work. I think my need to telling stories do not end with videogames and what I do in Ubisoft, but extends to my photographs, although, I do so without any pretence.
