There’s a beautiful place in the province of Pavia, more precisely in Montebello della Battaglia, called Beccaria’s Castle. This place, just not so many years ago, was left abandoned and to rot, surrounded by overgrown vegetation and destined to crumble. The abandoned castle boasted a generous garden with an incredible view on the fields, a perfect positioning in a very charming small city, a tall tower, many spacious rooms and a very large basement with vine cellars. This was the fate of this Castle till, as so rarely happens, a family with an idea and a dream, intertwined their future with the one of the Castle. This family, since then, worked very hard to restore the place with everything they have got; their money, their future and restoration works they made themselves. Yes, that’s how it works in this beautiful country, “abandon hope all ye who enter here”. We are so full of beauty, relics, historical buildings, and testimonials from the past, and yet we are able to manage only a small part of it. Slowly, the family is giving back to the Castle his former beauty and today, many are flocking there to visit the Castle, organising a catering, planning a photo shoot, or renting it for business meetings. I’m always going there with extreme pleasure, and with pleasure I’m witnessing the Castle getting better and better. If you are like me and you love the idea to help this family to restore the Beccaria’s Castle, call them, organize a shoot, a working meeting, a party, an exhibition, a visit, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed, They are daring, kind, committed and well organised.
